About a week ago, i met a man who woke up  the motivation i once had.  Because of his visit to FIDM i had the idea to not only share his company but many others that connects the massive world of fashion. Of course, the first i get to share with you guys is the one that started it all. GameChangers is a talent (apperal industry) management team that connects driven individuals to the perfect company suited to their culture and persona for a successful career. This company has connections to not only jobs but internships to some of the most influencial labels and brands in the industry like: Michael Kors, Dolce and Gabbana, Louis Vuitton, Juicy Couture, Calvin Kelin, American Eagel, Quick Silver, Hurley, Puma, among so many others.  So when ever you feel  ready to take on one of the most competitive industries, keep calm and visit GameChangersUs.com ,  i know i will. I feel that the information he shared with us can be used and taken advantage of by many others. I hope you get just as inspired as i did! Enjoy!- XOXO Lili Brito

Meet the man behind it all, Founder, and CEO Guy Chanin...

Q: What is your background in the industry?

A: I have been in the apparel industry for 23 years holding multiple leadership roles in manufacturing, wholesale, retail and licensing. More notably, I spent almost 10 years of my career at Quiksilver where I was a VP of Merchandising and Design and subsequently became a Senior VP of Direct to Retail. 2010 I was courted by Hybrid apparel to join their company and I became the Chief Merchandising Officer for 3 years. In the end of 2012 Gamechangers was born.

Q: What is your source of motivation?
A: My family.

Q: What was your first job in the industry?
A: Working as a credit manager for a Manufacturer in Downtown LA called Garron Corp.

Q: What is your new personal company?

A: Gamechangers which is a Talent Management Company. We are in recruitment placing very talented people in fashion and apparel companies as over the US.

Q: What are the many connections you can provide to your clients?
A: We connect our clients with people that ultimately help their businesses become successful.

Q: Did you ever plan to be where you are today?
A: Yes

Q:  What inspirational quote would you say defines you as a person?

A: I don’t believe one quote can sum up a mans life or career, but one that sticks out is:
“The mediocre teacher tells. The good teacher explains. The superior teacher demonstrates. The great teacher inspires.”

Q: Have you accomplished your childhood goals?

A: Your childhood goals are in essence, your adolescent dreams and they certainly change as you grow into a young adult. I wanted to be in theater as a young thespian so I guess the answer is no. I do believe though, that if you are truly ambitious, you don’t ever reach your goals completely.  Part of the fun is the journey and not so much the destination.

Q: Do you have a specific message you want to give to the world through your work?
A: I want people to always have hope especially those that are just getting started. And even those that are transitioning and feel like all is lost, never lose you’re your way. Remember, hope is not strategy but it’s the very thing that keeps us inspired and connected to achievement.

Q: What advice would you give to people who feel intimidated by this industry?

A: Don’t ever let fear govern your decision-making and choices you have in your life and your career. It will always be the one thing that holds you back from doing incredible things! In fact the opposite should happen, you should feel empowered by purpose and hope!

Q: What would you say; makes you stand out from the rest in the companies you have worked in and now with your own personal business?

A: I believe in what I do and I am doing something I love. Other companies are after transactions and exploiting people and opportunities, I am about changing peoples lives, doing something positive to an industry that has been good to me throughout my career, and making a modest living doing it.

Q: Tell us something that not many know about you.
A: I have a crazy chocolate covered raisins fetish!!

Q: Do you have any secret personal tips to those seeking to be successful in this industry?
A:  Attitude is more important than aptitude – make sure you have a good one :)

It was an amazing experience to be a part of the Pink Party last night, and being in the same room as such great designers, models, & actresses. Of course the host Rachel Zoe, Jenniffer Garner, but also Shay Mitchell, Brenda Song, Giuliana Rancic, Molly Sims, among others.
This production was started 10 years ago by Elyse Walker and has now raised more than 1.9 million dollars towards the Basser Research Center for Breast Cancer. Each guest must purchase a ticket of at least $1,500 dollars. Reserved seating with a table full of exceptional drinks are only for those who generously pay the table starting at 10 to 100 grand.  And like Jennifer stated last night its basically an event to see who pays more to be there. Enjoy!- XOXO Lili Brito

Can i just say i fall in love everyday with the lifestyle i am embarking. This week i was a part of the Ronald McDonald House Charity event at the Balboa Bay Club in Newport. The fashion show was an opportunity for donors to attend and raffles to be made. The Ronald House Charity helps millions of families with sick children and provides shelter near the hospitals where the treatments are taken place for cancer or other severe illnesses. At the event families were given donor who would sponsor a family getaway, which in my opinion is a great way to enjoy each other and forget about the struggles for a week or two.  But of course there is now great charity event without a fashion show! The show was sponsored by Fashion Island with designers: Trina Turk, Ella Moss, Diesel, Armani, and Vince Camuto. Enjoy! - XOXO Lili Brito

Cocktail Hour Anyone?

Hi loves, so this week i started school and i am just overwhelmed with excitement of what FIDM has to offer me. And just that quick i got an opportunity to be a part of a fashion show! Sure i've worked fashion shows, i hosted 3! But def nothing with Valentino, Lanvin, fendi , and Oscar de la Renta involved!  I was in charge of dressing my model to be ready to rock the runway and it was amazing to be able to hold these amazing authentic pieces, i was surrounded by so much art! Therefore, i just wanted to share a little bit of my experience ( and more to come of course!) Enjoy-XOXO Lili Brito

Here are my fab four from the 2014's Met Gala! Hope you enjoy!

Amanda Villegas

Margot Robbie was my best dressed for the evening simply because of how unique her gown was and I adore anything with a neck collar. I love the detail overall.

Leighton Meester looked flawless and her gown sits perfectly on her. This was a great choice, especially with the beautiful detailing.

Rihanna is always chic with an edgy twist. I love her play on the white on white trend and of course that neck detailing stood out to me the most.

Beyonce can never do wrong. Her vampy lip pairs with the gown perfectly and that plunge neck line is amazing on her.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Wow! the gowns seen at last night's event were surely astonishing! Both the star and designer worked together to create the perfect look, not everyone's worked out but here is my best dressed! a little long i know, but i was mesmerized by each one!
Enjoy!-XOX Lili Brito

 Blake Lively in Gucci
Blake was definitely the princess of the night and she had the princess charming to match it! The silhouette of the gown compliments her body perfectly, just like her make up and hair. Look well put together!
 Beyonce in Givenchy
All hail the queen! Beyonce killed it last night she couldn't have picked a better look to go with, than this one! All around it yells her name! the veil and jewelry were perf! Givenchy Nailed it!
Dita Von Teese in Zac Posen
Goodness! Her bod looks fab in this dress! The red detail in the dress make it all the better and the rouge lips match great! I personally wouldn't have matched it with that clutch but other than that, one of my fav for sure!
Leighton Meester in Emilio Pucci
Leighton never fails to show off her seductive side! The look is phenomenal, the accessories, hair and makeup don't distract from the main point--the dress, but they also don't wash her away.
Taylor Swift in Oscar De La Renta
Short hair just fits her! Taylors hair and makeup emphasize the gown perfectly, you could definitely see her personality through Oscar.
 Naomi Watts in Givenchy
Ombre to a whole nother level! More than the entire look and model i am obsessed with the gown! It has the perfect balance of elegant and sexy.
 Kate Mara in Valentino
Valentino does dress beautiful women! Hair on point.

 Rihanna in Stella McCartney
Rihanna surely looked stunning in Stella! Bad girl can pull off elegant! With  this look you could still see her personality but well put together.
 Rachel McAdams in Ralph Lauren
Talk about simple grace. Beautiful!
 Janelle Monae in Tadashi Shoji
When i saw this cape in the runway i was in love but that love definitely grew with the way janelle wore it!
The hair was made for it.. literally, but doesn't she look great?!
 Chrissy Teigen in Ralph Lauren
A bit odd but i like odd. Her shinny dress made her skin glow! All though it might have been the way she possessed but its a bit tight around the tummy..oops.
Victoria Beckham in her own design
No one knows how to dress yourself better than yourself! Modesty to the finest.
Rosie Huntington in Balmain
I wish Rosie worked this look down the runway! Her facial structure is perfect! Not to mention the entire look all around hair makeup and shoes, oh the shoes!!
Cara Delevingne in Stella McCartney
Cara may be funny and silly but when it comes to her career she knows what shes doing better than the rest! Her face is seen in by every designer at each runway, her look couldn't have portrayed her Hustle better! Go Cara!

Reunited and it feels so good! Last night LBAV attended the FIDM Debut Fashion Show in Santa Monica and it was such a great experience to share with each other. We also go the pleasure of meeting the one and only... Nick Verreos! He is such a funny and humble man who is such a great inspiration, as well as all the student designers in the fashion show. It makes us even more excited and anxious to attend FIDM this year!
